The Carrier SmartHome App is now available on the US App Store! a seamless, user-friendly tool that empowers homeowners to manage their HVAC systems, optimize energy use, and embrace smarter living.

Using Design Thinking at every step of the process, starting with user research, crafting lean user flows, organizing the information architecture, and aligning everything through wireframes, each screen was tested rigorously with real users via UserZoom, ensuring every interaction was intuitive, impactful, and validated as we iterated towards the final designs.

The app is built on the Carrier Mobile Design System (MDS), a design system I spearheaded based on Tailwind to ensure continuity and scalability worldwide (including support for right-to-left languages and Thai). Today, MDS fuels 12 apps in 5 different globally 🌍, and each component reflects 1:1 to code enabling rapid, unified product development. It supports light and dark mode across 6 different brands.

The MDS is now powering 12 apps globally, enabling rapid development (1:1 with code) and providing a consistent user experience across 6 different brands, including Bryant, Toshiba, and more.
